After major refurbishments in recent years and further changes to streamline things behind the scenes, the Committee are looking to take things further. We have drafted a short survey (it should take only 5-10 minutes) to gather your views and help plan for the future. Please complete this before the end of January - and come to the AGM on 10 March to take the discussion further.
10 March is the date of our Annual General Meeting. Please do come and support this. It is a chance to hear what has been going on in the Club during the past year, review the results of the survey and contribute to the discussion of future plans.
As is traditional, a short concert is scheduled after the interval. This year Pink Noise recorder ensemble will return for another beguiling recital. While recorder players are often associated with baroque music, Pink Noise also like to pair renaissance and modern music, in this case La Martinella from the fifteenth century and ‘Black’ by American composer Marc Mellits - exploring astonishing similarities in their sound worlds across the centuries.
Finally, on 31 March we have arranged an extra concert to celebrate the memory of our esteemed late Vice President, Alison Dodd. Ebble Baroque was formed in the Salisbury area just over a year ago by Matthew (her nephew) and Miranda Dodd, with Matthew Nisbet. In solos, duets and trios they explore a rich repertoire by composers both acclaimed and less well-known and share their enjoyment of playing Renaissance and Baroque music.
