Dear Cub Members,
It is with sadness that I have to report that Anthea Barley, the wife of our Chairman Victor, died on the 17th December. She attended our concerts on a regular basis and will always be remembered for her friendly personality. For the last four months she was being looked after at Stanton Court, Stanton Drew. Anthea's Funeral will be on Saturday 20th January at 12.00 noon in St Andrew's Church Chew Stoke, with refreshments afterwards in the Church Hall nearby. There is only a little parking near the Church, and unfortunately the ground is too wet to use an adjacent field
Subscriptions Please note that subscriptions are due on 1st January 2024 Adults £48, Couples £66, Country Members £42, Country Couples £60 and Juniors (under 18) £10, Corporate membership £65, key rental where applicable £25. For any Member who would like to pay by B.A.C.S. the details are : - Santander UK plc, Bristol Music Club, Sort Code 09-01-51, Account Number 06179403. For members who already pay by standing order please check with your bank that the correct amount is being paid. This small increase was agreed at the Club AGM March 2023.
Committee positions at the forthcoming AGM. There will now be 4 vacancies on the Committee for 3 years and 1 for 1 year. The committee meets 3 times a year and helps with the smooth running of the concerts. The tasks are really not that onerous. If you feel that you can help please talk to me or any committee member.
A.G.M. The A.G.M. will take place on 5th March 2024, so please make a note in your diaries. This will be followed by a concert given by Rustom Battiwalla.
The first concert will be on Tuesday 16th January..
I know that we all lead busy lives but it would be very nice to see more members support our concerts which are mainly given by members. Please make a New Year’s resolution to try and attend some of them.
