Please would you let Brian or me have your subscription as soon as possible in the New Year to avoid reminders having to be sent out. Any Member who would like to pay by standing order or B.A.C.S. the details are : – Santander UK plc, Bristol Music Club, Sort Code 09-01-51, Account Number 06179403. Please would you notify Brian Burdock, firstname.lastname@example.org that you wish to pay by this method so that he can keep his records up to date. For those members who already pay by standing order please check with their banks that the correct amount is being paid.
Disabled Lift The new disabled lift for access to the Club has now been installed. This is far superior to the old one and if you need a demonstration on how to work it then please attend a Club Concert evening when Brian or myself will be pleased to show you.
Booking the Club for practice There have been numerous problems during the last term because members are not reading the Guidance notes. This creates more work for me as I have to reply each time explaining why the club is not available. When making a booking please look at the online diary first to make sure the club is available. If there is a hiring then you cannot use the club under any circumstances and you must leave 30 minutes clear either side of that booking. When making a booking please use the Club email at email@example.com If I do not respond to your email then please check that your requested time has not already been booked by another member. I will be away from 18th Feb. – 25th Feb. inc. and will not be available to respond to booking requests. You may however book dates in advance for this week.
Concert by The Metropolitan Orchestra at St George’s Bristol, Sunday 10th March 2018 at 7.00p.m. Please note date and time. The programme is Copland – Fanfare for the Common Man, Tower –
Fanfare for the Uncommon Woman, Britten – Violin Concerto – Soloist Benjamin Baker, Sibelius – Symphony No.2. The ticket prices are £15/£12.00, concessions £14/11, (prices to be confirmed) reserved seats. Tickets for members can be purchased at half price from Brian Burdock on club nights or by posting a SAE to him at 42 Rodbourne Road, Bristol BS10 5AS. Members may also purchase additional tickets for non-members at full price. As there is now a limited number of tickets available early purchase is recommended. The last Club evening at which tickets can be purchased will be Tuesday 26th February.
Sue Burdock has asked me to remind members that she is still accepting unwanted music which can then be put out for sale on Club evenings and the money raised goes towards the upkeep of the pianos. This has been a very successful way of helping with these costs.
Lastly, enclosed is the Spring Term programme. There are some really excellent programmes on offer and the concerts begin again on Tuesday 15th January 2019.
On behalf of the committee I would like to wish you all a Happy New Year.
