Please would you notify Brian Burdock that you wish to pay by this method so that he can keep his records up to date. For those members who already pay by standing order please check with their banks that the correct amount is being paid.

Maintenance Recently a problem arose over the lighting trip having failed following a problem in the concert hall. Until a member went and found the club in darkness I knew nothing about this. There is no blame on the member who switched the faulty light on which then blew the system but it would have been helpful to let me know, as more importantly the club had a hiring in August and the hirers could have turned up to dark premises.

Social Media We are now on Facebook ( and Twitter (@BrisMusicClub).  Please help us to publicise our concerts by inviting your friends/family to follow us on social media.

Concert by The Metropolitan Orchestra at St George’s Bristol, Saturday 18th November 2017 at 7.30p.m. The programme is Tchaikovsky – Violin concerto – soloist Emmanuel Bach. Tchaikovsky – Polonaise from Act 111 of Eugene Onegen, Rachmaninov – Symphony No. 2. The ticket prices are £15/£12.00, concessions £14/11, reserved seats. Tickets for members can be purchased at half price from Brian Burdock on club nights or by posting a SAE. Members may also purchase additional tickets for non-members at full price.  As there is now a limited number of tickets available early purchase is recommended. The last Club evening at which tickets can be purchased will be Tuesday 31st October.

Sue Burdock has asked me to remind members that she is still accepting unwanted music which can then be put out for sale on Club evenings and the money raised goes towards the upkeep of the pianos. This has been a very successful way of helping with these costs.

Lastly, enclosed is the Autumn Term programme. There are some really excellent programmes on offer and the concerts begin again on Tuesday 19th Septemberl.

Best wishes,

Bob Pinniger
