Committee Members   I would like to welcome to the committee three new members, Christopher Gibbs, Vanessa Pinniger and Beth Thomas who is the orchestra representative. 

Concert by Metropoliton Orchestra at St. George’s, Bristol, Sat. 7th July 2012 at 7.30p.m. The programme is ‘Italian Girl in Algiers – Rossini, Clarinet Concerto – Mozart – soloist David Pagett, Symphony No. 2 – Rachmaninov.  All tickets are numbered and reserved, £13, £11, £9 & £7, (concessions £11, £9, £7 & £5).  Tickets for members can be purchased at half price from Brian on club nights or by post enclosing S.A.E.  Members may also purchase additional tickets for non-members at full price.  After the19th June, tickets can only be purchased from St. George’s at full price.  Orchestra members can obtain tickets at orchestral rehearsal evenings. 

General  Practice  For the first three months of this year the Club has been used nearly to capacity for practice, both the concert hall (booked) and the back practice room (on a first come basis).  Several problems have surfaced. 1. Multiple bookings made by members of the same group and 2. How should the back room be used fairly for all members who wish to use it. 

1.       Bookings should be per group i.e. 3 bookings for that group using the concert hall at a time. 

2.        Anyone using the back practice room please enter in the diary in the foyer when you arrive and then when you leave.  This will give the committee some facts on which to base future conditions of usage.  You should not use the room for more than two hours at a time. This may be revised at the next committee meeting in June.

 I am pleased to announce that a newly formed small choir is now hiring the back practice room on Wednesday evenings from 7.30p.m. to 9.00p.m.  I wish them every success for the future.  This means that the room is not available during this time.  

Lastly, enclosed is the Summer programme.  There are some really excellent programmes on offer and they begin again on Tuesday 24^th April.  Please come and support the performers.  I look forward to seeing you there.

The club cannot be used for practice if a concert is being held, or if the club has been hired.

If a Club member wishes to practice with a non-member, and that practice is not for a specific Club programme, a hire charge will be made.  The charges are available from the Booking Secretary Bob Pinniger, 01275-392344

A catalogue of the music held is placed in the foyer on the rear shelf.
